NANUET, N.Y. -- The Pennysaver and Interim Heatlhcare Inc. of Greater New York have to pay for placing its "no haitians need apply for a nursing position ad," lohud.com reported.

The payment is $4,000 annually for a minimum of three years into a fund for college scholarships, lohud.com said.

The companies will also be under monitoring by the New York state Attorney General's Office with regards to ads going forward and employee protection, per agreements reached with the Rockland Human Rights Commission, according to lohud.com

The Rockland Negro College fund will handle administration of the scholarship of $2,000 a piece the companies will pay yearly, Wilbur Aldridge, the Nyack NAACP vice president and the regional director of the Mid-Hudson/Westchester NAACP told the newspaper.

The healthcare company is "open to a permanent scholarship donation every year," Aldridge said, per the report.

Interim Healthcare was fined $45,000, and ordered to pay fines and costs amounting to $100,000, a March agreement reached with the New York state Attorney's General Office, lohud.com said.

The president of Interim Healthcare apologized for the discriminatory classified ad specifying “no Hatians” that was placed in a Rockland County Pennysaver, according to a previous news12westchester.com report.

Two branches of the NAACP in Rockland filed the complaint against Intermim Healthcare Inc. and the New City Pennysaver with the Rockland County Human Rights Commission with regards to the publication of the employment ad for nurses, according to this previous report, per lohud. com
