Congresswoman Nita Lowey announced $81,983 in federal funding for Child Care Access Means Parents In School program, which helps parents send their children to daycare while they take classes.

“This will allow parents to attend class, complete their studies, and enter the workforce more quickly and with less debt, which increases their earnings and stimulates our local economy,” Lowey said.

Kids attend a program called Campus Fun and Learn at Rockland Community College.

“While pursuing my education, I also have the peace of mind that my child is in an amazing program,” said Leydi Flores, an RCC Nursing student. “I am so grateful for the opportunities that the CCAMPIS grant and Campus Fun and Learn have provided for us both."
