Rockland County has become quite the craft beer bar scene, stepping up its suds game and offering residents a host of “hoppy” options. We asked for the best in the county; you gave us your picks. Now, four finalists are competing in our “DVlicious Best Craft Beer Bar in Rockland County” contest. Each is being profiled this week.
Raise your glass and drink in the following; then click on your favorite. You can vote multiple times, albeit once per day.
Voting ends 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24. The winner will receive a framed DVlicious certificate as well as the pride in knowing it has raised the bar in Rockland.
Number of Craft Beers: 36+
Why it's Liquid Gold: "We focus strictly on local craft beer," said Co-Owner Robert Beckert.
"Local" at Craft House includes New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, with new kegs constantly rotating through the six taps.
The beers kept on tap factor in variety and seasonality. And if none of those choices suit your fancy there are an additional 30 bottles and cans to ensure everyone leaves happy, said Beckert.
Six on tap now: River Horse Imperial Pumpkin Ale, brewed in Ewing, New Jersey; RushingDuck Naysayer Pale Ale, brewed in Chester; Sloop Citra Bomb IPA, brewed in Elizaville; Kuka Ales for ALS Double IPA, which comes from right here in Rockland County via Blauvelt; Empire Brewing Deep Purple, brewed in Syracuse; and Flagship Roggenfest, a Rye Oktoberfest from Staten Island. All of them, said Beckert, go great with a short-rib grilled cheese or any of the menu's other offerings.
