Jack Mattsson was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2016, shortly after his second semester at James Madison University.
He's had two surgeries, one to remove 30 tumors that had metastasized to his lungs, and was not able to return to college for his sophomore year.
The Mattsson Family has made more than 70 trips to New York City's Memorial Sloan Kettering and for five weeks commuted to the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta to participate in a clinical trial.
Although nothing has worked, Jack remains positive.
"Jack’s resiliency has been nothing short of amazing," his dad, Rudy, wrote on the YouCaring. "He has been a joy to be around despite all the uncertainty and setbacks."
