Chief Clarke Osborn worked the entrance greeting and thanking all for showing their support before making his way around to try and thank as many as possible individually. The Crotty family put together the night and had enough food to take care of more than what was expected to show up.

The event featured face painting, balloon making, an inflatable basketball and baseball game, and popcorn machine, and shirts were sold commemorating the event. The event was held at the Mahwah Elks Lodge.

On March 30, 2010, while on his way to baseball practice, Vincent died along with his best friend, Christopher Konkowski, as the result of an auto accident on Route 202 in Montebello. The Vincent Crotty Memorial Foundation was formed as a way to keep the memory and spirit of Vincent Crotty alive. The foundation helps needy children and families as well as youth sports programs throughout Suffern and surrounding areas.
