STONY POINT -- A bench placed as a memorial to a 21-year-old killed in a car crash appears to have been stolen, creating additional pain for a family already grieving, according to News 12 Hudson Valley.

Christian Ascolese was a passenger in a Honda that overturned on Gate Hill Road in 2014. He died in the one-car crash, according to News 12.

Friends created a memorial to Ascolese that featured the wooden bench, according to News 12. In the three-day span between New Year's Eve and Jan. 2, the bench disappeared, according to News 12.
