Boil Water Order Lifted In Wesley Hills

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A Boil Water Order issued by the Rockland County Health Department earlier this week has now been lifted.

A water main break in Wesley Hills, which flooded a basement on Cottonwood Lane, has caused officials to issue a boil water notice.

The order went into effect after a water-main break that occurred on Sunday around 10:30 p.m., at the corner of Wilder Road and Lime Kiln Road in Wesley Hills.

The water main break, which left a large hole in the road and water flowing down Wilder Road,  also flooded the basement of a home on Cottonwood Lane with Hillcrest firefighters called in to pump out the water, according to Ramapo police.

Wilder Road was closed for a short time following the water-main break.

The homes affected by the boil water notice were: 
  • Lime Kiln Rd. - # 103, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111, 112, 114, 90-100
  • Plumbush Rd. - # 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
  • Fawn La.- # 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
  • Joy Dr. - # 3, 4
  • Doe Dr. - # 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21
  • Blue Sky Dr. - # 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
  • Spook Rock Rd. - # 15, 18, 20, 24, 26
  • TranQuility Rd. - # 43, 44, 45, 46, 47,49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 58, 60,
  • 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 70

It is no longer necessary for these customers to boil their water prior to consumption.

Lab results indicate that the water meets all safe drinking water standards.
