SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- As grocery stores such as A&P and Pathmark leave the area, a new player has arrived in the The Route 59 shopping center in Spring Valley -- Food Fair, according to lohud.com.
Co-owner Osvaldo Carrera describes the store as a mix between an international grocery store, a traditional supermarket and a warehouse club, and it offers free delivery if you spend $60 or more, said lohud.com.
Carrera and co-owner Kent Tavera's store offers a spice isle with 52 feet of powders and grinds and specialties for those with international appetites. The owners also know their customers like to stock up, beans are sold in 100-lb. bags and the store features a wide array of frozen vegetables, yucca, hominy and other favorites that remind their customers of their homelands, added lohud.com.
Other customer-friendly options include gluten-free and organic goods, a small prepared-food area and a full-service bakery, butcher and fish market, said lohud.com.
