SUFFERN, N.Y. -- A gas main break during regular construction work on Chestnut Street led to the road being closed for at least an hour as crews worked to repair the line, according to Suffern Police.
The utility crew struck the line on Lafayette Avenue at Chestnut. Orange and Rockland Utilities have repaired the break and Lafayette Avenue is back open, police said.
Chestnut Street will remain closed for roadway improvements.
