New York Rising, which is responsible for New York’s recovery from storms, purchased 110 Lonergan Drive for about $311,000 last month, but could not reach an agreement with the owner of the other side of the building, according to lohud.com.

To resolve the situation, officials at New York Rising said they’ll leave one side of the building standing while demolishing the other, according to lohud.com, which reported that the state has not said when the demolition work will begin.

Village officials, who were not made aware of the situation until the owner who sold accepted the state’s money, suggested the state may have unintentionally purchased only one half of the building, according to lohud.com.
