The one-car crash, in which 75-year-old Linda Vendura was the sole occupant, occurred around 5 a.m. just north of South Mountain Road with Haverstraw police officers quickly arriving at the scene and advised arriving Ramapo PD officers that the woman was unresponsive, according to Det. Sgt. Brian Corbett.

Corbett said the department believes Vendura suffered a medical condition because of the signs at the crash site including no damage to the vehicle, no skid marks and no signs of trauma to her body.

The car, which was buried in thick brush, was moved to allow officers to remove Vendura from the vehicle and begin CPR, police said.

The Spring Hill Ambulance Corps transported Vendura to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, where she was pronounced dead

The Rockland County Medical Examiner's Office currently has Vendura's body as part of the crash investigation, Corbett said.
