Ramapo Police rescued a newly born fawn from a storm drain during the midnight shift on Friday after hearing what sounded like a baby's cries coming from the drain.

Sgt. Sal Matos and Officer Marc Lieman, assisted by the Chaverim Safety Patrol, were able to slip a loop around the fawn's neck and pull her to safety.

Officers said it took several hours, but the fawn was united with her mother early  Friday morning.
