Simon was removed as a judge in Ramapo, Spring Valley and Hillburn by the state Commission on Judicial Conduct after the panel's review of a 2012 accusation that he grabbed the arm of an intern, lohud.com reports.

Simon announced Tuesday in Ramapo Justice Court that he'll step down April 29, lohud.com reports.

The 2012 incident happened in Spring Valley during a dispute about where the intern was working. The intern pressed charges but later withdrew them while Simon filed a federal lawsuit over his arrest but later withdrew it, lohud.com says.
