A teen has been arrested for making a terroristic threat after calling in a bomb threat at Ramapo High School, said Ramapo Police.

Police responded to the school around 10:30 a.m., Friday, at 400  Viola Raod after receiving a phone call bomb threat, said Lt. Robert Lancia.

The Rockland County Sheriff's Bomb Unit, along with the Monsey Fire Department, Spring Hill Ambulance and Rockland Paramedics responded to ensure the safety of the students and staff, Lancia said.

Once the building was given the all clear, Ramapo police conducted an investigation at the school, 'pinged' and located the phone that the call was made from, and arrested Spring Valley resident Glen Tyrese Edwards, 17, he added.

Edwards was charged with falsely reporting an incident and making a terroristic threat, both felonies, Lancia said.

The Ramapo High School staff were cooperative in assisting Ramapo police with their investigation.

An earlier bomb threat left on a classroom wall the other high school in the East Ramapo School District, Spring Valley High School , caused the evacuation of the school while the Rockland County Bomb Squad searched the school with bomb-sniffing dogs.
