Eugene Palmer, who has been charged with second-degree murder in the shotgun death of 39-year-old mother of two Tammy Palmer, fled into the nearby 47,000-acre Harriman State Park and hasn’t been seen since, according to multiple media reports.
Tammy Palmer was estranged from his son, John, whom she had accused of assault, the lohud.com story said.
Police told lohud.com that they believe Palmer, who at the time of his disappearance was 73 years old, is still alive and is being aided by other people; his family insists that he must be dead because he suffered from diabetes and heart disease.
Police, who have not given up hope of locating Palmer, have followed tips to as far away as Arizona and Colorado and an international police search agency has been alerted, lohud.com reported.
Anyone with any information about Palmer’s whereabouts is asked to call police detectives at (845) 354-1500.
