Arnold Aaron, 86, Former Spring Valley Resident

SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- Arnold Aaron -- a Boca Raton, Florida, resident, formerly of Spring Valley -- died on Thursday, March 10. He was 86.

Born in Brooklyn, Aaron graduated from NYU and Ohio State University. He was a "world-renowned expert and lecturer on history and use of gold in dental industry," according to the death notice in the New York Times.

Aaron was a past president of the Jewish Community Center of Spring Valley, and chairman of Israel Bonds and UJA of Rockland County. He loved his family, friends, books and big band music.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sydell; children Cliff and Karen Aaron, Mindy and Andrew Feldman, and Amy Aaron; grandchildren Hillary, Ryan, Corey, Lindsay, Russell, Stephanie, Reuben, Mollie, Jackie and Tara; siblings Phyllis and Rhoda; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 13, at Hellman Memorial Chapels, in Spring Valley. Rabbi Segelman was to officiate. Interment was in Jewish Community Center Cemetery, in New Hempstead.
