Dorothy McIntyre, 90, Of Suffern

SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Dorothy (Dot) McIntyre, 90, died Nov. 15 at her Suffern home.

She was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Newark, N.J., to Charles and Susan Harrold. She was a graduate of St. Bernard’s School and Good Counsel Academy in White Plains. She began working at General Foods Corp. Later, she worked as a teacher’s aide in the Mahwah School District. She later worked in the Office of the Registrar and Bursar of Pace University in Westchester County.

After her retirement, she was active in a variety of organizations, including the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry at Sacred Heart Church, Rockland County’s Literacy Programs and the Board of Elections.

McIntyre is survived by her five children, Nancy (George) Metz of Hopewell Junction; Joanne Perretti of East Durham; Frank (Kathy) McIntyre of South Huntington; Stephen (Susan) McIntyre of Stormville; Beth McIntyre of Pomona; and her 10 grandchildren P.J., Chris, Ryan, Diana, Danny, Frank, Kerry, Allison, Brennan, and Caroline.

She was predeceased by her husband Francis.

There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Church, 129 Lafayette Ave., Suffern. Burial will follow at the Cemetery of the Ascension in Airmont.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or Helen Hayes Hospital, Route 9W Haverstraw would be appreciated.
