Former Ramapo Auxiliary Police Chief Sam Pesner, 66, Dies

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The Town of Ramapo Police Department is mourning the loss of retired Auxiliary Police Chief Sam Pesner, 66.

Pesner died Saturday at his home in Saint Augustine, Fla., under the care of hospice.

He served the department for more than 20 years as an auxiliary officer rising to the rank of chief. He was also a 911 dispatcher with the department for many years until he retired in 2007.

Pesner is survived by his wife Mary; son Brian; father Herman Pesner; sister, in-laws, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Craig Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m., Friday, April 28, in Saint Augustine.
