POMONA, N.Y. -- Judith D. Newman, 72, of Pomona, died Sunday, Sept. 13. She was 72.
She was born Sept. 29, 1943, in Bronx.
She graduated from Hunter College and went on to a teaching career in elementary education. She later became a reading specialist and continued her career as an administrator, becoming assistant principal and then principal of North Garnerville Elementary School.
She enjoyed retirement by traveling and spending her time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; children, Steven and Randi Newman and Andrea and Steven Kronethal; grandchildren, Tyler, Brandon, Emily and Jake; and brothers, Richard Miller and Edward Miller.
A funeral is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Robert Schoem's Memorial Chapel, 150 Route 4 East, Paramus,. Shiva will be observed at The Newman residence through Monday evening.
