MONTEBELLO, N.Y. — Montebello resident Margaret T. Martin died on Sunday, May 8. She was 88.
She was born Sept. 19, 1927, in Suffern, N.Y., to Thomas and Catherine Byrne,
A native of Suffern, Martin owned Martin’s Community Residence in Sloatsburg for years.
She is survived by her son, James and his wife, Joan Martin; daughter Catherine and her husband, Robert Stritmater; grandchildren Louis, and Andrew; and two great-grandchildren.
Martin was predeceased by her husband, Louis Martin; five siblings. A granddaughter, Kimberly Durkin, died in 2007.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 12 at 9:45 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern.
Burial will follow at the Cemetery of the Ascension in Airmont.
Visitation is Wednesday, May 11, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Scarr Funeral Home Inc., Route 202, in Suffern.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
