Maryann Chazan (née Darcy) of Congers died peacefully in the arms of her husband, Ed, on Saturday, Nov. 4. She was 48.

Maryann was born in New York City, her earliest childhood memories formed in the close-knit Irish community of St. Nicholas of Tolentine, Bronx. At the age of 7, she moved with her family to Nanuet NY, where she graduated from St. Anthony's School and Nanuet High School, Class of 1986.

Following her graduation from SUNY Albany with an honors degree in accounting, Maryann excelled as a Certified Public Account at Arthur Andersen, and Pearson Education, Upper Saddle River, where she retired in 2015 from her position as Vice President, Financial Planning, North America.

Maryann's greatest joys came from spending time with her husband and children, enjoying hockey games and cheerleading competitions, yearly trips to "her favorite place on earth", Walt Disney World, special summer vacations on Long Beach Island and every family gathering, especially hosting the holidays at her beautiful home. While juggling work and caring for her children, Maryann found time everyday to visit with her best friend, her mom.

Maryann was predeceased by her parents, John and Ann Darcy

In addition to her husband, she is survived her four precious children, Amanda, Cameron, Brandon and Justin and her much-loved Labradoodle, Rudy. Beloved sister and sister-in-law of Joanne and Ted Eckberg, Robert and Kathy Darcy, Tricia and Bob Dimke, and Kevin and Sophia Darcy; daughter-in law of John and Bertha Chazan and their family, Linda Kruger and Rich and Lisa Chazan.

Maryann was the favorite aunt to her many loving nieces and nephews, Lauren and Justin, Karen and Jordan, Megan and Sean, Ryan and Catie, Meghan, Bobby, Christopher, Keely, Lindsay, Emily, DJ, Calli, Katie, Patty, Nick, Victoria, Charlie and Grace. She was a special friend to so many who will miss her beautiful smile, kind-hearted nature and competitive spirit!

A Mass in celebration of Maryann's life will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m., at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 16 Jefferson St., Nyack with internment at St. Anthony's cemetery, in Nanuet,.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Maryann's memory to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org .
