Police ID Wayne Motorcyclist, 40, Killed In Deer Crash

WAYNE, N.J. — A 40-year-old Wayne motorcyclist was killed after hitting a deer just after 12 a.m., Wednesday, authorities said.

Peter J. Kamper's 2001 Harley Davidson FXS was traveling East on Lakeside Avenue when it struck a deer, the impact ejecting Kamper, police said.

People nearby heard the crash and found Kamper unresponsive at the scene, where a doctor rendered medical assistance until the Wayne Memorial First Aid Squad and paramedics responded, according to police.

Kamper was transported to Saint Joseph’s Medical Center and short time later was pronounced dead, police said.
