Timothy Brady Of Nyack, 68, Worked In Irvington School District

Timothy Brady, 68, of Nyack, died Monday, June 5, at home from kidney failure and a spinal cord injury.

Brady worked for 30 years as the audio-visual specialist for the Irvington Union Free School District. He was well respected by all his colleagues for his dedication, thoughtfulness and good humor.

When he retired, his opened his own sound company, EDIT Sight & Sound. He was an active presence in both indoor and outdoor events, charitable functions and concerts in and around Nyack and Westchester. He loved music and for more than 25 years was the chief sound engineer at the Tarrytown Music Hall and the Irvington Town Hall Theater where he worked with many artists, musicians, play groups, and private affairs. 

A very creative and talented musician, he was able to inspire and support others in their work as well as sing and play guitar in many bands.

Born Oct. 11, 1948, in Lockport, to his late parents, Norm and Veronica Brady, he attended Geneseo State University where he met his partner of 47 years, Dorothy (Knowles) Brady. He is also survived by his daughter Emily Brady; son Ian; daughter-in-law Amanda (Franco) Brady; three grandchildren, Liam, Michaela and Cullen Brady; sister-in-law Elizabeth Sliwa; brother-in-law Kenneth Knowles; sister Mary Demidovitch; brother Damian, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial celebration will be held on July 23, from 3:00- 6:00 p.m. at Hook Mt. State Park.
