He was arraigned in Chestnut Ridge Court and must appear in court at a later date, police said.
Police said they also handled a total of 138 calls on Wednesday, April 20, including: eight medical emergencies, nine fires, 20 alarm activations, and five other arrests for petit larceny, possession of stolen property, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
They also handled 12 motor vehicle accidents in the following locales: Monsey (4), New Hempstead (3), Montebello (2), Airmont (1), Chestnut Ridge (1), and Wesley Hills (1).
One accident involved an injury and one was a hit and run, police said.
