RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Three children were witnesses to a scene of domestic violence Wednesday evening, Ramapo police said.
According to police, an unidentified 28-year-old woman punched and kicked an unidentified man in front of the children, who ranged in age from two to eight.
Police did not say what the relationship between the two adults was.
The woman was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, harassment, and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
An order of protection was issued and the woman was told to stay away from the victim, police said.
She must return to court in May to answer the charges.
The state’s Child Protective Services was notified of the situation.
Also on Wednesday, March 23, police handled a total of 138 calls, including: 10 medical emergencies, nine alarm activations, and three arrests including the domestic violence incident.
They investigated 15 accidents on Wednesday; four involved injuries and one was a hit-and-run.
The accidents occurred in the following locations: Monsey (6), Hillcrest (2), Chestnut Ridge, Sloatsburg, Airmont, Montebello, New Hempstead, New Square, and Viola.
