Construction Worker Seriously Injured After Fall In New Square

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A construction worker, unloading building supplies, was seriously injured Friday during a fall in the Village of New Square, according to the Ramapo Police Department.

Officers responded to the construction site after receiving a call that the worker had fallen from a second-floor. When officers arrived on scene they found the worker had fallen while unloading building supplies from a forklift, police said.

The worker received serious injuries and was transported to Westchester Medical Center, police said.

Due to the conditions, police requested the New Square Building Inspector respond to the location as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), who will investigate this incident, police said.
