ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Pomona man was charged with felony DWI after officers checked out a vehicle sitting in a public parking lot, Ramapo police said.
The arrest of the unidentified 37-year-old man took place at 8:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, after officers discovered the man was drinking alcohol in the running vehicle, police said.
The driver failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. The officer later learned that the man had been convicted of a DWI offense within the last 10 years, making the offense a felony. The man also failed to have an ignition interlock in his vehicle, which was required by the court.
