Five Hospitalized In Two-Car Airmont Crash

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A serious crash resulted in five people being hospitalized and the closure of Route 59 in Airmont early Saturday night.

The 6 p.m. crash occurred when a 2002 Jeep heading east on Route 59 collided with a 2012 Toyota which was attempting to make a left turn from Route 59 onto South Airmont Road, Ramapo Police said.

The Jeep was occupied only by the driver, and there were four occupants in the Toyota.

The accident resulted in all five people being transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corps.

All the injuries were minor, police said, and the roadway reopened by 8 p.m.

Rockland Paramedics and the Tallman Fire Department also responded to the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
