Man Arrested In Sloatsburg Had License Suspended 7 Times, Police Say

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police have charged a 25-year-old resident of Newburgh with driving without a valid license, police said.

The arrest came about when an officer conducting speed enforcement on Route 17 in Sloatsburg observed a vehicle exceeding the speed limit Wednesday about 8:20 p.m., according to police.

The officer stopped the vehicle and conducted an investigation, discovering that the motorist, identified as Zachery Santo, had his driving privileges suspended seven times on five different dates, police said.

The suspect also had an active arrest warrant out of the village of Greenwood Lake, according to police.

Santo was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, police said.

After processing, he was turned over to the Greenwood Lake Police Department, according to officials.
