Man Caught With Crystal Meth, Methadone In Ramapo Parking Lot Stop

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police nabbed a Georgia man on Monday for possession of crystal meth after an officer checked out a car sitting in a hotel parking lot, according to Ramapo police.

The unidentified 35-year-old Cartersville, Georgia man was apprehended after a Ramapo officer, who was investigating a suspicious occupied car in a hotel parking lot, walked up to the vehicle and observed a woman under a blanket and a male with an open liquor bottle, police said. 

Upon further inquiries, the man admitted having methadone and a crystal meth pipe in the vehicle. A search of the car uncovered a crystal meth pipe, a bag of crystal meth, a bag of amphetamine, and nine needles, police said.

The man was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. The woman was not charged.
