Man Driving Stolen Car Caught With Cocaine, Pot In Nyack

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A man pulled over in Nyack for driving a stolen car is behind bars facing additional charges after Orangetown Police said they found him to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana.

Police said they observed the vehicle, which was reported stolen out of New York City, traveling west on Main Street at about 10:10 p.m. Thursday.

After conducting the traffic stop, police said 45-year-old Athanasios Vasiliou of Hicksville in Nassau County was found to be in possession both cocaine and marijuana.

Vasiliou was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance, both felonies, and unlaw possession of marijuana, a violation.

He was remanded to Rockland County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
