ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - A motorist was busted for his second alleged DWAI arrest in Ramapo after rolling his SUV over in a one-vehicle crash.

Members of the Ramapo Police Department were dispatched to a stretch of Route 202 at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Saturday in Pomona where there was reports of the crash after a driver reportedly struck a pole and rolled his vehicle over onto its side.

Upon arrival, police said that they found the vehicle on its side and the 31-year-old driver, whose name has not been released, had exited through the broken windshield. A Drug Recognition Expert from the Clarkstown Police Department was on scene and evaluated the driver for possible drug impairment.

The driver was arrested on a charge of driving while ability impaired by drugs. This is his second arrest for DWAI, with the other case still pending in the court system. The man was transported to the hospital as a precaution and he was processed for the DWAI over the weekend. He is due back in court later this year.
