RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A man and woman whose vehicle had to be pulled off rocks by police using tow straps at the top of Sixth Street were arrested for trespassing Monday evening, according to the Ramapo Police Department.

At 5:30 p.m., an officer reportedly observed a vehicle disabled on the rocks in an area marked, "No Trespassing," police said.

The 24-year-old woman of Harrison, New Jersey, and 25-year-old man of Upper Saddle River, New Jersey were not identified by police and were arrested for trespass. Both were issued appearance tickets for a future Hillburn court date, according to police.

Ramapo Police handled 119 calls Monday, including 12 alarm activations, six medical emergencies, one fire, and the two arrests, police said.

The department handled 15 motor vehicle accidents in the following areas: Monsey (5), Hillcrest (4), New Hempstead (2), New City (2), NE Ramapo, and Viola, according to police.

Two of these involved injuries and one was a hit and run, police said.
