RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police reported arresting a motorist for having a phony inspection sticker on his car.
The driver was stopped on Route 45 in the Village of New Hempstead Thursday, May 26, police said, for having an expired inspection sticker.
The officer then determined that the sticker was fake, police said.
The unidentified driver was charged with possession of a forged instrument.
Ramapo police also investigated 10 motor vehicle accidents at the following locations: Main Street, Hillcrest (2); Highland Roa and Highview Road, Tallman; Cortland Road and Route 59, Monsey (2); Route 59, AIrmont; Washington Avenue, New Square; and Cottage Lane, Pomona.
They also answered 174 calls for service, including: 15 medical emergencies and 17 fires.
They also made seven other arrests on charges that included: official misconduct, DWI drugs, and petty larceny.
