Police Discover Prostitution At Ramapo Hotel

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo officers arrested a 29-year-old female from Long Island for prostitution, and a 28-year-old male from Manhattan for promoting prostitution and unlawful possession of marijuana when they investigated suspicious activity in a local hotel parking lot.

They are both due in Airmont Court later this month to answer the charges.

Ramapo Police did not disclose the name of the hotel in Ramapo.

On July 11, Ramapo Police handled 109 calls, including: 12 alarm activations, eight medical emergencies, three fires, and three arrests for charges including criminal contempt, promoting prostitution, prostitution, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

RPD responded to nine motor vehicle accidents on Monday. They occurred at the following locations: Route 59-Airmont, North Airmont Road-Airmont, Route 59-Monsey, Main Street-Monsey, Widman Court-Bluefield, Executive Boulevard-Montebello, Grandview Avenue-New Hempstead, Route 45-NE Ramapo, and Saddle River Road-Chestnut Ridge. Two of the aforementioned accidents involved injuries.
