RAMAPO, N.J. -- Ramapo police said they nabbed a Spring Valley man driving a car that wasn't his -- and found that he had 16 active license suspensions.
Officers responding to a call of someone breaking into vehicles on Green Hill Lane in New Hempstead around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday found Raneck Pierre, 39, behind the wheel of a car that he didn't have permission to drive, police said.
They also found him carrying stolen property, they said.
He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and attempted larceny.
Police were trying to identify where the stolen goods came from.
Additional charges were possible, they said.
