RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police arrested a 30-year-old New City man on a criminal contempt charge Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
The arrest was a follow-up to a domestic incident that occurred the previous day; the charge came about due to the man’s disobedience of a court order, according to officials.
The suspect was taken into custody and brought before a Town of Ramapo judge for arraignment, police report.
The defendant was released on bail pending a future court date, according to officials.
Ramapo police officers investigated 10 motor vehicle accidents on Thursday, including five in Hillcrest, two apiece in Monsey and Airmont and one in Wesley Hills.
Ramapo police handled 114 calls Thursday, including 11 alarm activations, five fires and eight medical emergencies, according to officials.
