RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police have charged an 18-year-old with unlawful possession of marijuana, authorities said.
The charge stemmed from a traffic stop in the Hillcrest area late Tuesday evening, police report.
An investigation was conducted, and the teen was arrested; he was released on an appearance ticket for a future court date, according to officials.
Ramapo police officers responded to eight automobile accidents resulting in property damage on Wednesday.
The sites of the accidents included: Cragmere Road in Airmont; Route 59 in Airmont; North Airmont Road in Airmont; First Street in Monsey; Route 59 in Monsey; Calvert Drive in Viola; Madison Avenue in South Spring Valley; and Main Street in Hillcrest.
Police said injuries occurred in two accidents: Route 59 in Monsey, and Route 59 in Airmont.
Ramapo police rendered assistance in 119 calls for service on Tuesday, including five alarms, three fires and 11 medical emergencies.
A total of two arrests were made.
Charges included unlawful possession of marijuana and a warrant out of the Town of Clarkstown, according to officials.
