RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police had a busy day Saturday, responding to more than 100 calls, including 13 medical emergencies, 12 alarm activations and eight incidents in which arrests were made.

Among those incidents was a trespassing call at the Tilcon Quarry in Suffern, police said.

Officers responded to the quarry after receiving a call from someone who saw four teens hop the abandoned quarry's fence, police said.

Once at the scene, officers found four New Jersey boys ages 18-19, swimming in the flooded quarry pit despite multiple "No Trespass" signs posted on the town-owned property, police said.

Each of the teens was arrested on a trespass charge and ticketed, police said. The boys are to answer to the charges in Suffern Village Court.

In a statement Sunday, Ramapo police said they have been strictly enforcing trespassing laws at the abandoned quarry in an effort to keep the public safe.

Those who do trespass on the grounds will be prosecuted, police said.

Elsewhere in the town Saturday, officers responded to four car accidents -- one on South Pascack Road in Chestnut Ridge, one on Route 59 in Airmont and two on Old Nyack Turnpike in Chestnut Ridge -- police said.

No serious injuries were reported.
