Ramapo Police Respond To 14 Accidents Wednesday, 1 Fatal

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo Police were kept busy Wednesday investigating 14 car accidents, two which resulted in injuries, including one death, the remaining accidents caused property damage.

The accidents occurred in: Chestnut Ridge, Airmont, Montebello, Wesley Hills (two), Monsey (four), and Hillcrest (three). 

One of the Monsey accidents included the death of an 18-year-old woman who was hit by a car as she tried to cross Route 59. 

The department also responded to 117 calls for service: 

  • Nine medical emergencies
  •  15 alarm activations 
  • 13 fire calls 
  • One arrest for a bench warrant
