CHESTNUT RIDGE, N. Y. -- Ramapo and Rockland County investigators are looking into a Chestnut Ridge house fire from which people living in the home escaped without injury Thursday night, police said.
The residents got out of the house before police and fire arrived on the scene of the huge structure fire on Williams Road, police said. An entire section of the house was engulfed in flames when officers arrived at around 9:30 p.m., police said.
The South Spring Valley Fire Department, with help from Spring Valley, Pearl River and Nanuet departments, extinguished the fire quickly, police said. William P. Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps members were on the scene, but there were no injuries, police said.
Williams Road had to be closed for a while, but there was minimal disruption, police said.
