Rockland Man, 65, Suffers Broken Leg During Assault, 35-Year-Old Charged

STONY POINT, N.Y. -- A Stony Point man has been charged in connection with the assault of a 65-year-old man who police say suffered a broken leg.

The alleged suspect, Krishna M. Maganti, 34, was charged on Nov. 28 with second- and third-degree assault, according to the Stony Point Police Department.

An police investigation allegedly revealed Maganti did strike the victim, who was his roommate, causing lacerations, according to police.

The victim also allegedly suffered a broken left leg in the assault, said police.

The injured man was was treated at the scene by Rockland Mobile Care and then taken to Nyack Hospital by the Haverstraw Volunteer Ambulance Corp. for further medical treatment, according to police.

Maganti was arraigned then sent to Rockland County Correctional Facility, in lieu of $5,000 bail, police said. 

He was due back in Stony Point Justice Court the same day, according to police.
