Sloatsburg Man Charged After Attempting To Break Into Vehicle, Police Say

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A 26-year-old Sloatsburg man was nabbed by Ramapo Police trying to break into a vehicle early Tuesday in the area of Cloverdale Lane in Monsey.

The unidentified man was caught after the department received a call about a person trying to break into vehicles. A Ramapo officer located a person fitting the description given a short time later at a nearby convenience store on Route 59, police said.

After a brief investigation, the man was arrested and charged with attempted petit theft, police said.

The man was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
