A state police stop of a vehicle in Orange County led to the arrests of three men, including two from Rockland, as well as the discovery of drugs and a loaded handgun.

Troopers patrolling the Mechanicstown section of the Town of Wallkill on Sunday, Dec. 17 stopped a 2007 Hyundai for vehicle and traffic violations.

While speaking with the operator 19-year-old Chayne Price of Middletown, troopers noticed a strong odor of marijuana, according to state police.

A subsequent search of the vehicle produced a quantity of marijuana and a loaded .357 caliber European American Arms revolver, police said.

Price, along with his two passengers -- Keimoni Spinks, 19, and Timothy Brown, 25, both of Spring Valley -- were placed under arrest. None of the occupants possessed a permit allowing possession of the firearm.

All three were charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a Class C felony. Price was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, and various vehicle and traffic offenses.

The three were arraigned in the Town of Wallkill Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail. Bail for Price and Spinks was set at $50,000 cash or $75,000 secured bond. Brown was remanded with no bail set.
