Ryan Christiansen, 19, was arrested following a report of a robbery with a knife in the area of Rockland Avenue in Nanuet around 12 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, police said.

The victim told officers that an unknown white male had broken into his car that was parked in front of his home. The victim chased the suspect down the street and was able to confront the suspect and take a picture. At that time the suspect displayed a large knife and fled the area on foot. The victim told officers that his wallet and credit cards were stolen, police said.

Using the picture taken by the victim and assistance from other police agencies, Christiansen was identified as the suspect, police added.

Christiansen was arrested and charged with robbery, grand larceny, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon. He is currently being held on $20,000 bail at the  Rockland County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 21.

Officers added that they don't believe Christiansen is involved in the other car break-ins that have occurred in Nanuet and New City.
