SUFFERN, N.Y. --The Suffern Police Department had a busy weekend, making several arrests ranging from an arrest for harassment to residents driving with open containers of alcohol.
The arrests included:
- A 25-year-old Suffern man with several charges following a dispute early Sunday, when officers responded to a bar on Lafayette Avenue for a report of a disturbance; when they arrived, they placed the man under arrest on harassment and disorderly conduct charges. - Two men, a 55-year-old Pleasant Valley man and an 18-year-old New City man were charged with driving with suspended licenses. The Pleasant Valley man was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 202, and upon an investigation it was determined that his license was suspended. The 18-year-old was arrested after being stopped for driving without headlights and it was discovered that he had an active warrant from Suffern for driving on a suspended license.
- Two Suffern residents were charged with violating a village ordinance against having open containers of alcohol after they were stopped by an officer who was checking a suspicious vehicle in Brooklands Park.
