SUFFERN, N.Y. --The Suffern Police Department had a busy weekend, making several arrests ranging from an arrest for harassment to residents driving with open containers of alcohol.

The arrests included:

  • A 25-year-old Suffern man with several charges following a dispute early Sunday, when officers responded to a bar on Lafayette Avenue for a report of a disturbance; when they arrived, they placed the man under arrest on harassment and disorderly conduct charges. While taking him into custody, he allegedly fought with officers and was further charged with resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
  • Two men, a 55-year-old Pleasant Valley man and an 18-year-old New City man were charged with driving with suspended licenses. The Pleasant Valley man was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 202, and upon an investigation it was determined that his license was suspended. The 18-year-old was arrested after being stopped for driving without headlights and it was discovered that he had an active warrant from Suffern for driving on a suspended license.
  • Two Suffern residents were charged with violating a village ordinance against having open containers of alcohol after they were stopped by an officer who was checking a suspicious vehicle in Brooklands Park.
