SWAT Team Takes Man Into Custody After Armed Standoff In Suffern

SUFFERN, N.Y. -- The Suffern Police Department has a suspect in custody after an armed standoff early Monday night.

The suspect was barricaded before being apprehended, police said.

There were no injuries and a county SWAT team took the suspect into custody, according to police.

The incident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. on Washington Avenue near the Suffern Police Station, where residents were asked to stay inside their homes for about an hour through reverse 911 calls.
