The 17-year-old teen was stopped on Erie Street for driving erratically and other traffic violations, police said.
During the stop, officers noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the teen and he had glassy, bloodshot eyes. During a search, police found marijuana and a forged New Jersey driver's license, police said.
The teen was arrested after failing numerous field sobriety tests. He was transported to the Orangetown Police Headquarters where additional chemical tests were performed; results are still pending, police added.
He was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a fake license and possession of marijuana. The teen was released and is due to appear in court on Sept. 7.
