Video: Fire Breaks Out After Spring Valley Resident Starts Car

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - A Spring Valley homeowner got an unwelcome surprise Thursday morning after attempting to warm up his car.

A car fire broke out in Spring Valley early on Thursday morning.

Officers from the Ramapo Police Department and crews from the Spring Valley Fire Department were dispatched to a South Cole Court home in Spring Valley at approximately 7 a.m. on Thursday, following reports of a vehicle fire.

Police said that the owner of the vehicle started his car, went back inside his home, and when he returned, the vehicle was engulfed in flames.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the flames, though the car was destroyed by the blaze. No injuries were reported.
