Woman Killed In Collision On Route 202 Outside Pomona Post Office ID'd

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The 59-year-old woman who was killed a two-vehicle collision in front of the Pomona Post Office on Route 202 Monday afternoon has been identified by Ramapo Police on Tuesday.

Laurie Gage of Hillburn, the operator of the 2001 Honda Civic involved in the 11:44 a.m. crash, was extricated from her vehicle by the Hillcrest Fire Department, and treated by Spring Hill Ambulance, along with Rockland Paramedics, before being pronounced dead, police said.

A 2002 Cadillac operated by 68-year-old Marielle Zino of Pomona had been traveling westbound on Route 202, and attempted to make a left turn into the post office when it  was struck by the Civic, which was traveling eastbound on State Route 202, according to police.

Each vehicle was occupied only by the driver, according to police.

This crash is still under investigation by the Ramapo Police Accident Investigation Unit. No summonses or charges have been filed at this time.
